In Australia, Queensland’s supreme court has determined vaccine mandates for police and ambulance workers were unlawful. The decision came after 86 individuals challenged the mandates, arguing they were made without proper regard for their human rights and without full consent. The mandates, enforced in 2021 and 2022 had required emergency service personnel to get vaccinated and receive booster shots or risk losing their jobs.
The court found these directives not only violated workers’ rights by forcing them into a medical procedure but were also issued without proper legal foundation by high-ranking officials. This ruling has sparked discussions on the balance between public health measures and personal freedoms.
