Past Lives is a collaborative workspace in Portland, Oregon dedicated to supporting ex-prisoners by providing them with trade skills and job opportunities. With the guidance of founder Brandon Morlock, the organization is expanding its mission to promote renewal and empowerment within the community. The initiative evolved into a thriving hub that combines artistry and craftsmanship. Members have unlimited use of facilities like wood and metal shops, ceramics, textile and sound studios, and a dark room, all for 200 dollars per month.
Their unique approach blends construction with artistic expression, allowing for innovative projects like custom furniture and large-scale artworks. By promoting relationships and equality, Past Lives transform the lives of those involved. It creates a supportive environment where ex-prisoners can thrive, allowing them to rebuild their lives through meaningful work and mutual respect.
