In the U.S., a new recycling plant is using plasma torch technology to recycle nearly all materials, except nuclear waste. This eco-friendly method is more environmentally sustainable than traditional techniques. The plasma torches reach temperatures more than 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit, breaking down waste to its basic atomic elements. The process produces hydrogen gas, which can be used in fuel cells and as vehicle fuel, and creates a stable material called synthetic obsidian. These by-products are useful in industries like construction and jewelry making, providing a sustainable alternative to landfills and incinerators worldwide. This innovative technique is a significant step forward in waste management technology.
