In China, a robotic guide dog may provide a tech solution to the shortage of trained canines for more than 20 million Chinese who are visually impaired. Equipped with cameras and sensors, this prototype is designed to assist people with sight issues in navigating their environments independently. It can identify obstacles and traffic signals while planning safe routes and following user commands using voice recognition technology. The six-legged design offers enhanced stability, ensuring smooth movement on uneven surfaces. Once fully developed, the robot guide dog could help many with sight challenges – not only in China.
