In Peru, contaminated wetlands are transformed into thriving habitats in just 15 days using innovative nanotechnology. The micro-nano bubbling system introduces micro-bubbles deep into waters overrun with bacteria and polluted microorganisms. Because these nano bubbles are far smaller than those in carbonated drinks, they can capture and contain harmful microorganisms without the use of chemicals.
Each Nano bubble has an electromagnetic field of positive and negative ions that works much like a magnet, attracting viruses and bacteria to them. Once captured, the viruses and bacteria are contained long enough to be turned into a gas once the bubbles reach the surface. Using this micro-nano bubbling system is a viable option for low-income regions and is easily made with hardware store parts. This is a promising model for future wetland recovery efforts worldwide.
