On the southeastern outskirts of Lagos, Nigeria, the Green Fingers Wildlife Sanctuary is making a huge difference for local animals. Founded by a dedicated animal lover, the sanctuary has been rescuing and caring for animals since 2012. To date, the sanctuary has helped thousands of animals, many of them critically endangered. The Green Fingers’ main goal is to release animals back into the wild as soon as they’re ready.
The sanctuary is committed to making the animals feel at home and is offering a lifelong safe haven for those that can’t return. With enclosures designed to mimic their natural environment, this setup ensures the comfort and well-being of all residents. The founder and his team hope to inspire more safe havens like Green Fingers across Nigeria. This initiative is a wonderful reminder that one person’s vision can make a world of difference.
