Founded in 2014, GoFarm in Colorado has revolutionized access to fresh, affordable food through a variety of innovative initiatives. One standout project is the mobile market, a pay-what-you-can farmer’s market that travels in a truck to low-income neighborhoods, schools, retirement homes, and more. This mobile market connects residents with fresh produce sourced from 80 to 90 local farms each season. Building on this community-focused approach, GoFarm also runs the incubator farmer project.
This initiative supports aspiring farmers by providing a comprehensive 20-week training course and access to a quarter-acre of land for two years. Participants gain valuable skills in farm management and have the opportunity to sell excess produce back to GoFarm, which helps sustain the program and strengthens local food systems. Additionally, their local food share initiative serves 500 to 800 members each summer, offering convenient weekly produce pickups from various locations. Currently reaching more than 2,000 households, GoFarm continues to innovate in delivering fresh, quality food to the community at low cost.
